We went to Canada! + (Vlog)


We went to Canada! As most of you know, we are from Michigan! It took us about 45 minutes to get to Windsor (where we stayed) from our city.
 It was just me (Katie) and my best friend Nicole who went. We were supposed to have a bigger group but one by one people kept backing out :( But, it was for Nicole's 20th birthday so we decided to still go! Honestly, we didn't expect to have as much fun as we did. It was seriously one of the best nights of my life. We can't drink in Michigan because in the United States the drinking age is 21. In Canada you only have to be 19 years old!

We went to Canada last year for Nicole's 19th birthday with a bigger group of people and had a good time so that is part of the reason we wanted to go back! The picture above is inside the tunnel to Canada when we were on our way there. This is the border between the countries! Even though we live right across the river it isn't that easy to get over there. You have to go through border patrol, answer all of their questions, have your passport or advanced license, and sometimes even get your car searched. Luckily, we didn't have to. Though, Nicole did have to throw her pepper spray away because it is illegal in Canada to have it. Once we got into Windsor we found our hotel, parked, checked in, and started our night! This picture to the left is us right before we went to the Caesar Hotel and Casino. This year since we were at a Holiday Inn we had to drive to the Casino (last year we just took an elevator) But our Hotel was very nice and had the most comfortable beds! Anyways, we wore our happy birthday crowns and went on our way!


This is us with our first drinks! We got Blue Lagoons. It was our first legal drink last year so we decided to carry on the tradition and get it from the same bar inside the casino! 











I don't like strong stuff. Cocktails are more my thing. Also at the casino I had a Green monster which is a half a shot of Raspberry Absolute Vodka, half a shot of Ciroc, and lots of pineapple juice. Nicole got a Gin and Tonic. I tasted it, ew. I hated it! But she loves it so it must be an acquired taste. Nicole doubled her money on the slot machines! I lost three dollars :/ We had a lot of fun!

Once we got back to the hotel we changed into our outfits that we wore to go out!
                                        
There were a lot of kids our age on our floor at the hotel. We would open the door and crowds of people would be in the hall telling us to 'come party' with them but we aren't stupid and wanted to be safe. One time when I opened the door there was guy in the hallway with a few girls that ran up to us and asked us if we wanted to hang out. Once we told them we were from America they freaked out "YOU ARE AMERICAN?!" "THEY ARE FROM THE STATES YOU GUYS!" 
So after we talked to them for awhile about the bars that are good and other things we decided to go out with them for the night. We hung out with them at the hotel for awhile before we went out though and they kept telling us how heavy our Michigan accents were. They said we even say accent wrong! We spend 45 minutes saying words so they could laugh at the way we say them. It was actually really funny and cool to learn about their country. One girl we met, Jessica, kept telling us that everyone from the U.S thinks that Canadians live in igloos. We thought that was hilarious because we are under no misconception that Canadians live in igloos. I mean really? However, she kept carrying on and on about how America's do not learn Canadian history but they had to take American history in "Grade School" as they call it. That is true, we didn't take any history class that taught us about Canada and its past. They asked us about Obama and healthcare. They knew more about America then they did Canada. They were like "We have a... um.. a Prime Minister. What is that guys name again?" The sad thing is I don't think they would of known that had they been sober. 

They were the nicest people though and they took us to Tequila Bob's and bought us Tequila shots. We had so much fun dancing and listening to music. Apparently, Gangnam Style is still popular in Canada.... We separated from their group after a few hours and got pizza.

 We got ready for bed, slept, and then headed home in the morning.

Our October Favorites & Updates!

Beeeeedooo. Beeeedooo.                                                                       Hey guys! So today is going to just be a quick post to let you guys know
some important updates! We have been working really hard with our blog and our YouTube channel! It is hard work but we love doing it! We have finally come up with a schedule for our channel's videos and our blog posts! We have decided that we will upload a video every other day (when possible) and a blog will be posted every other day (sometimes more). We appreciate all of the support and nice comments you guys have been leaving us. This is a dream of ours so we love feeling supported and we couldn't thank you guys more! I Witnessed a Proposal! And I got a Video!

This is Scott and Brittney. I met them last night when I went to the Filmore in Detroit, Michigan to see my favorite band
City and Colour perform. I have witnessed four proposals in my life and they have all been during Dallas Green's "The Girl." This is one of their sweetest songs so it is no wonder that so many decide to pop the question while it is being played live. This proposal actually has an interesting back story though. Before the first band "The Sleepy Suns" came out on stage Brittney had been frantically looking all around the floor and emptying her pockets to find her boyfriend Scott's credit card which she had misplaced. Everyone around us began to help look for the card and offer suggestions on what she should do. Finally, a group of us convinced Scott to cancel his credit card in case someone had found it. When he left the main floor to go call the credit card company I heard Brittney say to her friend "I lost his card and I think he is going to propose! I felt a ring box in his pocket when I was looking for his card!" Immediately, me and my friends got really excited because we had just been talking about the many proposals that go on during Dallas Green's shows. Now one was going to happen RIGHT in front of us. Soon after, Scott returned to say that he couldn't cancel the card because he didn't have cell service in the theater. Then I heard him disappointingly tell one of Brittney's friends "She knows. The ring box was in my pocket and she felt my pocket when she was looking for the card!" Finally, City and Colour began to play their set. Between every song I kept anticipating the start of "The Girl". Scott was biting his nails throughout the entire concert, but I think I was more nervous than he was! I wanted to get a video of it so they could have it as a memory of such an important night. I wanted to be ready with my camera in hand. Dallas left the stage and after fans screaming "Encore. Encore!" he came back to perform three more songs. The first being "The Girl." I watched as Scott got down on one knee and asked Brittney to be his wife. She bawled her eyes out and so did several of the people surrounding them. Dallas green even asked them for their names and stopped the concert to congratulate them. After the song was over and everything settled down, I asked the couple if they would like me to send them the video I took of the proposal. They were so excited and appreciative of the gesture. I sent them the video and watched how happy they were for the rest of the concert. Oh and one more thing! Her ring was huge! So beautiful :) I felt so lucky to share such an awesome experience with complete and total strangers! (haha) If you would like to see this proposal it is up on our YouTube channel.

Thrifted Fashion Video and Our Weekend!

Hey Guys! So it was a long weekend for us and we apologize for missing a few blogs last week! :( But we would love to share our weekend with you!
We had a lot of fun this HALLOWEEN weekend.
We spent most of it at Michigan State University
 with our boyfriends and family. 
My (it is Katie by the way) boyfriend goes to school there so we visited him
and dressed up for Halloween. Plus, it was the
Michigan vs. Michigan State game this weekend!

 Here are some pictures of us with

 State won which made our brother Tyler very unhappy since he was loudly routing for Michigan the whole weekend!

<----- Here are some of our Halloween costumes.
Jessica was a Sugar Skull and I was a Minion! I was also Elmo (that is why there are numbers on my boots). Our eye lashes had red bows on them and we loved them!!!












We did our nails for Halloween with a whole bunch of different colors and patterns. The candy corn
one was my favorite :) These were done with colorful nail polishes and toothpicks/sharpies to create the
designs!




MAKEUP! I purchased these this weekend at target. They were all three dollars each! I love ELF's lip glosses (right) so I had to buy those! I am really liking them so far. The false eyelashes are great but remember you need to buy a different eyelash adhesive because the glue it comes with is useless! The set on the left comes with two liquid liners and a pencil eyeliner. I like these because I am always losing my eyeliner in my makeup bag (that could easily be mistaken for Narnia) so these are perfect because they are cheap and they work!



Yum!!! Tis the season for White Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks! The picture on the left (sorry it is blurry) is the schedule for ABC family's 25 days of Christmas that begins on December 1st. I know it is only November but I feel like the Holidays always go by so fast so this year I am getting in the spirit early! I even bought a "Deck the Halls" candle yesterday!

We can't forget what this weekend was....JESSICA'S BIRTHDAY WEEKEND! Here is the present her boyfriend Rob got her! A Build-a-Bear and a beautiful necklace!
