Lip Monthly ($10 monthly Subscription)

Hello! Today I have a review of the July 2014 Box of Lip Monthly. For those of you who are not familiar with Lip Monthly it is a monthly subscription service that provides their subscribers with a mix up of higher end and drugstore lip products for (get this) only $10!!! It is definitely affordable when compared to other subscription services. So far I am loving it and am very happy with the products! Oh and ignore the fact that I'm holding the box upside down in the picture, typical Katie.

Here are the contents of this month's package! The only non-lip product was the Frizz-Ease sample by John Freda. It is a straightening product for your hair that is called "Straight Fixation". I have not tried this product yet but I am excited to because I am not a big fan of putting heat on my hair, so anything to minimize the amount of time that I have to do that is perfect for me! Next there are five lip products! They all seem to be full size to me but apparently the Revlon Lip Gloss and the Appeal Cosmetics Lip Stick are the full size products. The Appeal Cosmetics Lip Stick in Red Light District retails for $22 and the Revlon Lip Gloss in 044 Sun Baked retails for around $6.99.

Other contents of the box-
City Color Lip Lush Luscious Lip Balm
Stila Lip Glaze Stick in Orange
City Color Lip Balm

Here are some swatches of the products. From Top To Bottom- Red Light District, Revlon Lip Gloss in Sun Baked, Stila Lip Glaze in Orange, City Color Lip Lush- Luscious Lip Balm,  City Color Lip Balm.

So far I am really happy with Lip Monthly and plan on ordering next month's box as well!

Get your first box for $5.99 using the code "SUMMER LIPS"

Get two free months when you sign up for the annual subscription using the code "2FREE"

Make sure to Like Lip Monthly on Facebook and check out our page "BrynnLynnBeauty" as well!

Check out NSFW- Gold Laced Red

This red color is SO RED. Like I don't know how to say it any other way. I have never tried a lip stain so I didn't expect it to be this bright and heavy but I love it! These were $10 each at IMATS but they run for about $18 normally.

MORPHE

35W-35 COLOR WARM PALLETE
Check out the 35W-35 Color Warm Palette!

This amazing palette was only $15 but they retail for about $20.  Jessica actually bought two of these, one for her and one for Rob's sister Katie. Look how gorgeous these colors are! :)

Check out the 06F- Pressed Powder Palette!

We both bought one of these amazing palettes. I used mine and it worked perfecting for highlighting and contouring. We got these for $13 but they retail for $18. So worth it. Look at how big it is! We have heard great things about Morphe and now we can agree!

Jessica got this lipstick stand that holds all kinds of lipsticks, including drugstore lipsticks! These were on $12 at the show!

Also, because Jessica is a lipstick hoarder she NEEDED to buy a square one as well! These are great and fit nicely on her vanity.

FALSE EYE LASHES!

Check out the KoKo lash collection!

We both bought a big variety of lashes to try out. Jessica did my eyelashes for IMATS and I absolutely loved them. She just used some random lashes I had but I loved the way they looked and the way they made my eyes pop. I will definitely be wearing fake lashes more often.

TAT2U

I decided to get some lipsticks from a company that I had never heard of. Tat2U has some very bright and fun colors! This one is called Poison-berry. It is a lot darker in the tube than it is when you apply it. It almost looks purple in the packaging but goes on like a pretty red.

Here is a swatch of the lovely color. The first swatch is one of the glosses I purchased from Tat2U. Check out Poison-berry here!

I also got another red color! This one to the left is the Stiletto lipstick.

     Third swatch :)

Eye Kandy
While we were waiting in the Sigma Line we met an amazing girl who we ended up hanging out with the whole day. Her mom worked for Eye Kandy so we decided to check out the booth. We ended up getting three colors from their glitter collection.  Toffee, Twizzle Stick, and confetti. It was $30 for three glitters, the liquid sugar, and a brush! I see tutorials in our future!

Check out our friend Corrina's YouTube channel. She just uploaded her first video! We are so glad we met her at IMATS and will be doing collabs with her in the future so go check our her channel and subscribe! <3

FRENDS Beauty
Jessica bought some beauty blenders. Neither of us have ever owned the original beauty blender, we have always used the off-brand ones. I am excited for her to try them out so she can let me know if they are worth splurging on!

14 DIY Valentine's Day Gifts, Treats, and Decorations! (How To Video Included)

Happy Friday ladies and gents! It is the weekend and thank God for that. Today we are coming to you with a really fun post. Since Valentine's Day is coming up we wanted to give you a gift guide for things you can give that special someone in your life. What better gifts than DIY gifts you made with love? Nothing! So today we will be sharing 14 DIY Valentine's Day Gift Ideas! We actually made a How To video on all of these gifts- 14 DIY Valentine's Day Gift Ideas! We definitely recommend watching it for tips and tricks on how to make these. We spent a lot of time on it, hope you enjoy!

Now the first thing we wanted to accomplish was to make projects that were adorable. The next two things we wanted were to make them affordable and easy to make. I think we accomplished that with our How To video. Everything we bought was from either Target, Meijer, Dollar Tree, Barnes and Noble or Walmart. We made sure not to spend an outrageous amount of money but enough to make sure we could make some really awesome gifts. Staring at this pile of stuff made me so excited to get started! I absolutely love crafts and DIY projects. Here is the list of the items we made!<3
Chalkboard Heart Tin- This is so adorable and takes less than 45 minutes to make and that is including the drying time! The tin was $1, the paint was around three dollars, we used some of our niece's chalk, and all the other items to make this we already owned. (Scissors, paper, and a sharpie.) We threw in some "date night" treats like candy, DIY Chocolate Covered Pretzels and my FAVORITE movie right now, About Time.

Grab your apron! We are making some Heart-shaped Crispies! I love rice crispy treats but add fun shapes and I'm all about them. These are so easy to make. You just make rice crispies as you normally would but you can add some strawberry marshmallows for taste and color. Then when they have cooled you can use cookie cutters to make the heart shape. We got 3 for $5.99 at Target. Then we used some yummy frosting to decorate them for Valentine's Day! <3 The recipe and cooking directions were covered in the video!

Since you already have your apron on, lets make some chocolate covered pretzels! These are so cute and they turned out even better than expected. For this you just heat a bag of chocolate chips up in the microwave for two minutes and then take it out, making sure to stir out any bumps or lumps. Then you dip a pretzel twist into the chocolate and then pour some sprinkles over the pretzel and use a bowl to catch the excess. We also made drizzl pretzels in our video!

Next we made some Cute-Tea bags. Get it? Punny Right? Anyways, these are adorable if you are having a cozy night in or maybe a Valentine's Day themed party. This tag says "you are my cup of tea" but if you watch on YouTube you will see another adorable heart design as well. If you were wondering, this is my favorite tea! Blueberry Slim Life- Green Tea by Yogi. So good! <3

This next treat is super is easy to make and is called "Kisses from the Mrs." Take some Hershey's Kisses (the almond kind are the best) and fill up a goody bag with them. Then make a label using a mouth/lips stickers and some card stock. On the label you created write "Kisses from the Mrs." or "Your name, xoxo" then tie it around the bag with some string.  So easy right? This is adorable and a way to put a personal touch on some candy.

This is my favorite DIY! Just because I think these are so cute! Taking some Sweet-tart heart gummies you will begin to place a pretzel stick in between them. This will create an arrow. Now you could go about the packaging a couple different ways. These could be "Cupid's Arrows" but I didn't really like the idea of that. So I made these my "Follow Your Arrow" Arrows. Kasey Musgraves sings one of my favorite songs with that title so I wanted to incoorperate it into the theme of this DIY! I made some really cute labels in the video that make the arrows so great to hand out or serve them on a tray at a party <3

This is the "Let's Mix" mix CD. I just took my favorite album of the moment- The Hurry and the Harm by City and Colour and added a cute label to it that says "Let's Mix." This is great to give to your Valentine or even a friend. It is really easy and afforable. This CD has a lot of romantic songs but you could also make a CD of all love songs or songs that remind you of the person you are giving it to!

Next is the "You're Hot- Chocolate!" You will need a tumblr or drink container. I bought this one for a dollar at the Dollar Tree. Then you will need some Hot Chocolate to be placed in a zip- lock bag, some marshmallows, a paper/foam heart, and some markers. The complete project looks so cute and creative. To see the end result you must watch the video! ;)

Message in a mailbox is probably the most affordable and the easiest DIY. All you need is a little  mailbox (we got ours for $1 at Target,)
a treat bag, some conversation hearts, and stickers. You can decorate the mailbox anyway you want with stickers and then your conversation hearts serve as your "message." Who doesn't want a "txt me" heart on Vday right?! #Sarcasm.... The hashtag was Sarcasm too.

The "Why I Love You" Journal is sort of a half way DIY. You do have to fill in the entire journal and add photos and things but the actual journal can be purchased for under $10 on Barnes and Noble.com- here is the link. If you wanted to make this yourself I am sure you could. It is a great way to share memories with one another and show someone how much they mean to you!

These next gift ideas can also be room decorations. The Vase and the hearts didn't come together but I put them together to make a cute little decoration. The hedgehogs were an early gift from my boyfriend and I actually named them Ralph and Kia! Thanks for all of your suggestions on Instagram! Then you can just set your decorations on a cute piece of felt. Mine is pink and has hearts all over it. The hedgehogs are from Target and the vase/heart sticks are from the Dollar Tree!

This next one is incoorperating a lot of the DIYs into one to create the perfect cozy night in! If I haven't stressed to you enough, About Time is my FAVORITE movie right now. It has such a good meaning and really makes you think about the meaning of life and how you should spend your time. Now, for those of you thinking "Why is Rachel McAdams in another time traveling movie?" Stop it right now. That is what I thought before I saw it in theaters and I completely changed my mind once I watched it. She is the perfect person for the role and to me the two movies are on entirely different levels. About Time > Time Travelers Wife. This movie seriously brought me to tears. It made me laugh and cry so in my book it is a pretty good one! Check it out!!! <3

Okay, so I love sharpie mugs because I think they are just so cute and handmade items are always the best. I wanted to put a cool spin on these mugs though since they are popping up everywhere. Couple's mugs are the way to go. I found this design on Google and they were selling these mugs for over $20 each. No way! I knew I could make them myself for under $20. Turns out, they only cost me $2 total. The mugs were a $1 each and I used sharpies I had.

I also did a design on the back of the mug. To ensure that the markers on your mug last through washes you can put the mugs in the oven for 30 minutes on 350. Make sure you put them in before the oven heats up and leave them in there until it cools down to avoid any cracking. These mugs are super adorable and I love them! We also made some red ones with a different design that we give instructions to in our video!

We also did a Valentine's Day Makeup Look, Hair Styles, and Outfit Ideas video which will be up soon! So if you aren't already subscribed to our YouTube channel we would love to have you<3
Make sure you guys leave us blog and video suggestions! If you like DIYs like this one please let us know and we will make more of them. Please remember to share if you liked these<3 We appreciate all of the support we have. If you decide to recreate any of these projects please #vdaywithbrynnlynnbeauty on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to show off your work! We would love to see it! Use our links to the right to get in touch with us! If you want to use our pictures (not the idea but the actual pictures) please give credit. Thank you all for reading! Talk to you next time!!!! Would you want an OOTD post tomorrow?! <3

Healthy Recipes! (Chipotle Guacamole & Apple Granola Salad)

Hey ladies and gents! I know a lot of people promised themselves that they would get healthier and fitter in 2014. I was one of those people. However, eating healthy can become a chore when we don't add variety into our diets. I thought I would share with you two of my healthy snacks! The first being the Chipotle inspired Guacamole. I have always loved guacamole but this recipe is too die for. It is so delicious and when made right, even tastes better than the Gauc at Chipotle! I actually got this recipe from my boyfriend who used to work there. Also an amazing Salad! Let's get started!

Ingredients
2 Avocados
1/2 Jalapeño pepper
1/4 Red Onion (optional)
2 Tablespoons of Cilantro
1/4 of a Lime
1/4 Teaspoon salt

1. Cut the two avocado vertically along the longer side. Then using a spoon, scoop out both pits. Then use the spoons to scoop out the avocado. Add to mixing bowl. Use a fork to mash it together until it becomes smooth.
2. Take a small Jalapeño pepper and cut it in half. (Picture above: top right). Then mince the pepper until they are in tiny pieces.
3. (Optional) Finely chop up the red onion. I personally do not add the onion to my recipe because I simply do not like the taste of them. However, chipotle does add them.
4. Finally chop the two heaping tablespoons of Cilantro.
5. Use your hand to press down on the lime and roll it along the table. This will help the juice flow better when squeezed. Cut the lime in half.
6. Mix all of the ingredients into your mixing bowl and add lime and salt to taste.
This guacamole is amazing. You can dip pretzels, chips, pita, etc.  Great for serving at parties! Delicious <3

 Apple Granola Salad!

Where I live in Michigan there is a Restaurant called Black Rock. They only have two locations but they are wildly popular. The restuarant is actually owned by my friend's family. The concept of the restaurant is that you cook your own steak on a hot stone. As most of you know, I don't eat red meat so going to the resturant to cook a steak is not on the top of my to do list. But they do have the most AMAZING salad. It has granola in it and to me that was interesting. Cereal salad? Hmmm. But it tasted SO good. So much so that I tolerate raw meat being on my friend's plates so I can eat this salad. Unfortunately,  I don't get to go out as often as I would like so I wanted to recreate this amazing salad.  Here is my recipe! :)

Ingredients
1/2 Cup of your favorite Granola
(I like KIND's Blueberry)
2 cups of Salad
1 Apple
1 tsp of Honey Mustard dressing

This is super easy to make! You just mix your salad, granola, and dressing into your bowl. Cut up your apple into small pieces, add them to you salad, and BAM. You have a salad you won't be able to get enough of! <3

Let us know if you try out these recipes!!! <3
