14 DIY Valentine's Day Gifts, Treats, and Decorations! (How To Video Included)

Happy Friday ladies and gents! It is the weekend and thank God for that. Today we are coming to you with a really fun post. Since Valentine's Day is coming up we wanted to give you a gift guide for things you can give that special someone in your life. What better gifts than DIY gifts you made with love? Nothing! So today we will be sharing 14 DIY Valentine's Day Gift Ideas! We actually made a How To video on all of these gifts- 14 DIY Valentine's Day Gift Ideas! We definitely recommend watching it for tips and tricks on how to make these. We spent a lot of time on it, hope you enjoy!

Now the first thing we wanted to accomplish was to make projects that were adorable. The next two things we wanted were to make them affordable and easy to make. I think we accomplished that with our How To video. Everything we bought was from either Target, Meijer, Dollar Tree, Barnes and Noble or Walmart. We made sure not to spend an outrageous amount of money but enough to make sure we could make some really awesome gifts. Staring at this pile of stuff made me so excited to get started! I absolutely love crafts and DIY projects. Here is the list of the items we made!<3
Chalkboard Heart Tin- This is so adorable and takes less than 45 minutes to make and that is including the drying time! The tin was $1, the paint was around three dollars, we used some of our niece's chalk, and all the other items to make this we already owned. (Scissors, paper, and a sharpie.) We threw in some "date night" treats like candy, DIY Chocolate Covered Pretzels and my FAVORITE movie right now, About Time.

Grab your apron! We are making some Heart-shaped Crispies! I love rice crispy treats but add fun shapes and I'm all about them. These are so easy to make. You just make rice crispies as you normally would but you can add some strawberry marshmallows for taste and color. Then when they have cooled you can use cookie cutters to make the heart shape. We got 3 for $5.99 at Target. Then we used some yummy frosting to decorate them for Valentine's Day! <3 The recipe and cooking directions were covered in the video!

  Since you already have your apron on, lets make some chocolate covered pretzels! These are so cute and they turned out even better than expected. For this you just heat a bag of chocolate chips up in the microwave for two minutes and then take it out, making sure to stir out any bumps or lumps. Then you dip a pretzel twist into the chocolate and then pour some sprinkles over the pretzel and use a bowl to catch the excess. We also made drizzl pretzels in our video!

 Next we made some Cute-Tea bags. Get it? Punny Right? Anyways, these are adorable if you are having a cozy night in or maybe a Valentine's Day themed party. This tag says "you are my cup of tea" but if you watch on YouTube you will see another adorable heart design as well. If you were wondering, this is my favorite tea! Blueberry Slim Life- Green Tea by Yogi. So good! <3

This next treat is super is easy to make and is called "Kisses from the Mrs." Take some Hershey's Kisses (the almond kind are the best) and fill up a goody bag with them. Then make a label using a mouth/lips stickers and some card stock. On the label you created write "Kisses from the Mrs." or "Your name, xoxo" then tie it around the bag with some string.  So easy right? This is adorable and a way to put a personal touch on some candy.

This is my favorite DIY! Just because I think these are so cute! Taking some Sweet-tart heart gummies you will begin to place a pretzel stick in between them. This will create an arrow. Now you could go about the packaging a couple different ways. These could be "Cupid's Arrows" but I didn't really like the idea of that. So I made these my "Follow Your Arrow" Arrows. Kasey Musgraves sings one of my favorite songs with that title so I wanted to incoorperate it into the theme of this DIY! I made some really cute labels in the video that make the arrows so great to hand out or serve them on a tray at a party <3

This is the "Let's Mix" mix CD. I just took my favorite album of the moment- The Hurry and the Harm by City and Colour and added a cute label to it that says "Let's Mix." This is great to give to your Valentine or even a friend. It is really easy and afforable. This CD has a lot of romantic songs but you could also make a CD of all love songs or songs that remind you of the person you are giving it to!

Next is the "You're Hot- Chocolate!" You will need a tumblr or drink container. I bought this one for a dollar at the Dollar Tree. Then you will need some Hot Chocolate to be placed in a zip- lock bag, some marshmallows, a paper/foam heart, and some markers. The complete project looks so cute and creative. To see the end result you must watch the video! ;)

Message in a mailbox is probably the most affordable and the easiest DIY. All you need is a little  mailbox (we got ours for $1 at Target,)
a treat bag, some conversation hearts, and stickers. You can decorate the mailbox anyway you want with stickers and then your conversation hearts serve as your "message." Who doesn't want a "txt me" heart on Vday right?! #Sarcasm.... The hashtag was Sarcasm too.

The "Why I Love You" Journal is sort of a half way DIY. You do have to fill in the entire journal and add photos and things but the actual journal can be purchased for under $10 on Barnes and Noble.com- here is the link. If you wanted to make this yourself I am sure you could. It is a great way to share memories with one another and show someone how much they mean to you!

These next gift ideas can also be room decorations. The Vase and the hearts didn't come together but I put them together to make a cute little decoration. The hedgehogs were an early gift from my boyfriend and I actually named them Ralph and Kia! Thanks for all of your suggestions on Instagram! Then you can just set your decorations on a cute piece of felt. Mine is pink and has hearts all over it. The hedgehogs are from Target and the vase/heart sticks are from the Dollar Tree!

This next one is incoorperating a lot of the DIYs into one to create the perfect cozy night in! If I haven't stressed to you enough, About Time is my FAVORITE movie right now. It has such a good meaning and really makes you think about the meaning of life and how you should spend your time. Now, for those of you thinking "Why is Rachel McAdams in another time traveling movie?" Stop it right now. That is what I thought before I saw it in theaters and I completely changed my mind once I watched it. She is the perfect person for the role and to me the two movies are on entirely different levels. About Time > Time Travelers Wife. This movie seriously brought me to tears. It made me laugh and cry so in my book it is a pretty good one! Check it out!!! <3

Okay, so I love sharpie mugs because I think they are just so cute and handmade items are always the best. I wanted to put a cool spin on these mugs though since they are popping up everywhere. Couple's mugs are the way to go. I found this design on Google and they were selling these mugs for over $20 each. No way! I knew I could make them myself for under $20. Turns out, they only cost me $2 total. The mugs were a $1 each and I used sharpies I had.

I also did a design on the back of the mug. To ensure that the markers on your mug last through washes you can put the mugs in the oven for 30 minutes on 350. Make sure you put them in before the oven heats up and leave them in there until it cools down to avoid any cracking. These mugs are super adorable and I love them! We also made some red ones with a different design that we give instructions to in our video!

We also did a Valentine's Day Makeup Look, Hair Styles, and Outfit Ideas video which will be up soon! So if you aren't already subscribed to our YouTube channel we would love to have you<3
Make sure you guys leave us blog and video suggestions! If you like DIYs like this one please let us know and we will make more of them. Healthy Recipes! (Chipotle Guacamole & Apple Granola Salad)

Hey ladies and gents! I know a lot of people promised themselves that they would get healthier and fitter in 2014. I was one of those people. However, eating healthy can become a chore when we don't add variety into our diets. I thought I would share with you two of my healthy snacks! The first being the Chipotle inspired Guacamole. I have always loved guacamole but this recipe is too die for. It is so delicious and when made right, even tastes better than the Gauc at Chipotle! I actually got this recipe from my boyfriend who used to work there. Also an amazing Salad! Let's get started!

Ingredients
2 Avocados
1/2 Jalapeño pepper
1/4 Red Onion (optional)
2 Tablespoons of Cilantro
1/4 of a Lime
1/4 Teaspoon salt

1. Cut the two avocado vertically along the longer side. Then using a spoon, scoop out both pits. Then use the spoons to scoop out the avocado. Add to mixing bowl. Use a fork to mash it together until it becomes smooth.
2. Take a small Jalapeño pepper and cut it in half. (Picture above: top right). Then mince the pepper until they are in tiny pieces.
3. (Optional) Finely chop up the red onion. I personally do not add the onion to my recipe because I simply do not like the taste of them. However, chipotle does add them.
4. Finally chop the two heaping tablespoons of Cilantro.
5. Use your hand to press down on the lime and roll it along the table. This will help the juice flow better when squeezed. Cut the lime in half.
6. Mix all of the ingredients into your mixing bowl and add lime and salt to taste.
This guacamole is amazing. You can dip pretzels, chips, pita, etc.  Great for serving at parties! Delicious <3

 Apple Granola Salad!

Where I live in Michigan there is a Restaurant called Black Rock. They only have two locations but they are wildly popular. The restuarant is actually owned by my friend's family. The concept of the restaurant is that you cook your own steak on a hot stone. As most of you know, I don't eat red meat so going to the resturant to cook a steak is not on the top of my to do list. But they do have the most AMAZING salad. It has granola in it and to me that was interesting. Cereal salad? Hmmm. But it tasted SO good. So much so that I tolerate raw meat being on my friend's plates so I can eat this salad. Unfortunately,  I don't get to go out as often as I would like so I wanted to recreate this amazing salad.  Here is my recipe! :)

Ingredients
1/2 Cup of your favorite Granola
(I like KIND's Blueberry)
2 cups of Salad
1 Apple
1 tsp of Honey Mustard dressing

This is super easy to make! You just mix your salad, granola, and dressing into your bowl. Cut up your apple into small pieces, add them to you salad, and BAM. You have a salad you won't be able to get enough of! <3

Let us know if you try out these recipes!!! <3

Blogmas #2- Adorable DIY Gift Idea!

 Hey bloggers! So today for our second post in our BLOGMAS Series we are going to be teaching you how to make this super adorable yet simple Christmas/Winter decoration. Now you can keep this to decorate yourself or give it as a gift!

It is so cute and it did not take me that much time to make at all! So keep on reading if you want to learn how to create this awesome little gift!

For this you want to pick out a phrase. I chose "Let it Snow" but you could choose anything you want! You could even do "FALALA!"

Then you want to pick a color theme and choose the objects you will put inside of your shadow box frame!

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The first thing you will need is a shadow box picture frame. I actually had a hard time finding one! I finally found one at Kohl's for around $15.Every thing else was purchased at Jo-Ann Fabrics. Use your best judgement when picking out the frame. It must be deep enough to fit bulky items. The back drop of the shadow box will be a piece of scrap book paper. Mine happened to fit my frame perfectly so their was no need for cutting or trimming. I chose a white shimmery background to go along with the snow theme. Scrapbook paper by the sheet is not very expensive. I believe this one was 60 cents. I just placed this scrapbook paper into my frame and smoothed it out to make sure their was no bumps. The next thing I added was the white Christmas tree that I bought for $3. I thought it looked snow covered and would fit it nicely. However, the tree ended up being to big to fit inside of the frame. It was an easy fix though! I just cut the tree in half and it fit perfectly! Because you only see one side there is no way to tell that is cut in half. I secured this to my frame using some pearl embellished sewing pins that came with the frame. It worked out nicely because they locked the tree in place and looked like ornaments on the tree! Jessica and I found some adorable shatter-proof ornaments as well. We decided that blue and silver would look the best! I just mixed these up and placed them around the tree on the inside of the frame. These mini ornaments were 50% off making them about $3 a box. Then to fill the box up even more I bought the $8 silver jingle bells. These are so cute for the holiday season and really make the frame that much more festive. I made sure to really mix all of the objects around so that the colors were well blended. Now to complete the project all you need is some stickers! I chose these adorable blue ones that cost about $4. I cut out the letters and placed them on top of the glass before actually sticking them on. This will help you figure out what placement looks best before the stickers are stuck for good!
We love these shadow box frames! We think they are so cute for holiday decorating and even gifts. I made this particular one for my boyfriend's mom. You don't have to follow the exact color pattern and you can most certainly pick a different phrase to put on the outside!
We saw this idea on Pinterest but recently one of the most popular beauty gurus on YouTube made a video showing how to do these as well. So all month long girls have been tweeting their recreations of these frames! We picked out a few of our favorites and asked the creators if we could share them with you in our blog. Here are our favorites!
 This adorable frame was made by Lauren Carbone!
Shopping Haul! (Blogmas, Anniversary, Updates and More!)
So...I went shopping again. I know I just did a black Friday Haul but I got some good stuff yesterday so I thought I would share it! We just went to a few places but I am in love with all of the stuff I got! We went to the mall and also Charming Charlie! So lets just get started!
So the first store we went to was H&M. I love this store because they have really cute stuff at very affordable prices! If you guys have been following us and reading our blogs than you should know I bought a tablet on Black Friday. I wanted to get a case for it to keep it protected. I actually found this little zipper bag that is meant to be a makeup bag or clutch but it is the perfect size! It is padded so I think it will be pretty protective for now. Plus I can fit my Kindle in it as well! That was only three dollars and they have a bunch of different ones! Then I also bought these little metal chain rings. There is one gold and one silver. I almost bought these a few months ago but they were $4 and I just wasn't sure I would wear them much. But recently my obsession with heavy chain jewelry has been bad. So spending a dollar on this was well worth it!
Then, we went to Claire's. I just love all of their Holiday themed accessories. They have some really cute headbands and bows. Eventually, I decided to get some earrings. These were buy one get one 50% off and they were both originally about $5 each. I know I will only be able to wear the ornament ones for the month of December so I wanted to get the bows because I can wear them for more than just the Holiday Season.
BATH AND BODY WORKS!
Yes, that was in all caps for a reason. I love this store! It is amazing and just has so many amazing scents and things! I bought three of the mini candles. These are three for $10. I just got the samples because I know in a month I will be moving on from the holiday scents. So I just got 'Tis the Season, Merry Cookie, and Champagne Toast. I also bought the 5 for $5 Hand Sanitizers because I LOVE these things and I always have them in my bag. So I picked up the Vanilla Bean Noel, Cranberry Twinkle, Merry Marshmallow, Twisted Peppermint, and Sugar Plum Dream. To hear a more in-depth description of the scents click here
My last two purchases were my favorites! I got a purse from Charming Charlie. Isn't it just so cute? I thought it would be perfect for the holidays. I actually copied Jessica because she bought this in a different color and hauled it in one of our shopping haul videos. This purse was $19.99. I also bought a scarf to match this bag for $10. The image doesn't show it very well so you can just watch our haul video to see it better! Click Here!
Today is Jessica and Rob's three year anniversary. You might know him from our My Boyfriend Does My Makeup Tag video! Happy Anniversary guys! Love you<3
UPDATES!
 So we have decided in order to get into the holiday spirit with all of you we are going to do BLOGMAS. This means that all of our blog posts throughout the month of December will be Christmas/Holiday related! Whether it be our Christmas lists, gift ideas, DIY decorations, ect. Just comment and let us know what you would like to see from us! We look forward to spending this magical time of year with all of you!
You may have noticed that our blog layout is a little different. We thought we would mix it up a little and try something new. Let us know what you think of the theme!
Also we just wanted to say that since our last blog post a few days ago, we have gained 80 more subscribers! That is so awesome and we are so looking forward to hitting that 400 mark. We would love to reach 500 by the end of our second month on YouTube. If you like our blog and our channel please make sure to share it! We really appreciate all of the support we have! You guys are the best!
We have been asked and yes we are doing Vlogmas this year! Vlogmas, (for those of you who don't know) is basically where YouTubers vlog everyday up until Christmas. What we are going to do is film everyday and at the end of the week mash them all together to make on big Vlogmas Video. We think this will be easier for you guys because you just have to watch one video not seven. So it will sort of be like a week in the life video where you get to see all the things we do throughout the week! We love vlogging so this is going to be super fun! So make sure you watch out for that!
Also just a quick update on the HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY! We are filming our November Favorites video tomorrow with the winners revealed at the end. So make sure you watch the video on Thursday to see if you won!
