14 DIY Valentine's Day Gifts, Treats, and Decorations! (How To Video Included)

Happy Friday ladies and gents! It is the weekend and thank God for that. Today we are coming to you with a really fun post. Since Valentine's Day is coming up we wanted to give you a gift guide for things you can give that special someone in your life. What better gifts than DIY gifts you made with love? Nothing! So today we will be sharing 14 DIY Valentine's Day Gift Ideas! We actually made a How To video on all of these gifts- 14 DIY Valentine's Day Gift Ideas! We definitely recommend watching it for tips and tricks on how to make these. We spent a lot of time on it, hope you enjoy!

Now the first thing we wanted to accomplish was to make projects that were adorable. The next two things we wanted were to make them affordable and easy to make. I think we accomplished that with our How To video. Everything we bought was from either Target, Meijer, Dollar Tree, Barnes and Noble or Walmart. We made sure not to spend an outrageous amount of money but enough to make sure we could make some really awesome gifts. Staring at this pile of stuff made me so excited to get started! I absolutely love crafts and DIY projects. Here is the list of the items we made!<3
Chalkboard Heart Tin- This is so adorable and takes less than 45 minutes to make and that is including the drying time! The tin was $1, the paint was around three dollars, we used some of our niece's chalk, and all the other items to make this we already owned. (Scissors, paper, and a sharpie.) We threw in some "date night" treats like candy, DIY Chocolate Covered Pretzels and my FAVORITE movie right now, About Time.

Grab your apron! We are making some Heart-shaped Crispies! I love rice crispy treats but add fun shapes and I'm all about them. These are so easy to make. You just make rice crispies as you normally would but you can add some strawberry marshmallows for taste and color. Then when they have cooled you can use cookie cutters to make the heart shape. We got 3 for $5.99 at Target. Then we used some yummy frosting to decorate them for Valentine's Day! <3 The recipe and cooking directions were covered in the video!

Since you already have your apron on, lets make some chocolate covered pretzels! These are so cute and they turned out even better than expected. For this you just heat a bag of chocolate chips up in the microwave for two minutes and then take it out, making sure to stir out any bumps or lumps. Then you dip a pretzel twist into the chocolate and then pour some sprinkles over the pretzel and use a bowl to catch the excess. We also made drizzl pretzels in our video!

Next we made some Cute-Tea bags. Get it? Punny Right? Anyways, these are adorable if you are having a cozy night in or maybe a Valentine's Day themed party. This tag says "you are my cup of tea" but if you watch on YouTube you will see another adorable heart design as well. If you were wondering, this is my favorite tea! Blueberry Slim Life- Green Tea by Yogi. So good! <3

This next treat is super is easy to make and is called "Kisses from the Mrs." Take some Hershey's Kisses (the almond kind are the best) and fill up a goody bag with them. Then make a label using a mouth/lips stickers and some card stock. On the label you created write "Kisses from the Mrs." or "Your name, xoxo" then tie it around the bag with some string.  So easy right? This is adorable and a way to put a personal touch on some candy.

This is my favorite DIY! Just because I think these are so cute! Taking some Sweet-tart heart gummies you will begin to place a pretzel stick in between them. This will create an arrow. Now you could go about the packaging a couple different ways. These could be "Cupid's Arrows" but I didn't really like the idea of that. So I made these my "Follow Your Arrow" Arrows. Kasey Musgraves sings one of my favorite songs with that title so I wanted to incoorperate it into the theme of this DIY! I made some really cute labels in the video that make the arrows so great to hand out or serve them on a tray at a party <3

This is the "Let's Mix" mix CD. I just took my favorite album of the moment- The Hurry and the Harm by City and Colour and added a cute label to it that says "Let's Mix." This is great to give to your Valentine or even a friend. It is really easy and afforable. This CD has a lot of romantic songs but you could also make a CD of all love songs or songs that remind you of the person you are giving it to!

Next is the "You're Hot- Chocolate!" You will need a tumblr or drink container. I bought this one for a dollar at the Dollar Tree. Then you will need some Hot Chocolate to be placed in a zip- lock bag, some marshmallows, a paper/foam heart, and some markers. The complete project looks so cute and creative. To see the end result you must watch the video! ;)

Message in a mailbox is probably the most affordable and the easiest DIY. All you need is a little  mailbox (we got ours for $1 at Target,)
a treat bag, some conversation hearts, and stickers. You can decorate the mailbox anyway you want with stickers and then your conversation hearts serve as your "message." Who doesn't want a "txt me" heart on Vday right?! #Sarcasm.... The hashtag was Sarcasm too.

The "Why I Love You" Journal is sort of a half way DIY. You do have to fill in the entire journal and add photos and things but the actual journal can be purchased for under $10 on Barnes and Noble.com- here is the link. If you wanted to make this yourself I am sure you could. It is a great way to share memories with one another and show someone how much they mean to you!

These next gift ideas can also be room decorations. The Vase and the hearts didn't come together but I put them together to make a cute little decoration. The hedgehogs were an early gift from my boyfriend and I actually named them Ralph and Kia! Thanks for all of your suggestions on Instagram! Then you can just set your decorations on a cute piece of felt. Mine is pink and has hearts all over it. The hedgehogs are from Target and the vase/heart sticks are from the Dollar Tree!

This next one is incoorperating a lot of the DIYs into one to create the perfect cozy night in! If I haven't stressed to you enough, About Time is my FAVORITE movie right now. It has such a good meaning and really makes you think about the meaning of life and how you should spend your time. Now, for those of you thinking "Why is Rachel McAdams in another time traveling movie?" Stop it right now. That is what I thought before I saw it in theaters and I completely changed my mind once I watched it. She is the perfect person for the role and to me the two movies are on entirely different levels. About Time > Time Travelers Wife. This movie seriously brought me to tears. It made me laugh and cry so in my book it is a pretty good one! Check it out!!! <3

Okay, so I love sharpie mugs because I think they are just so cute and handmade items are always the best. I wanted to put a cool spin on these mugs though since they are popping up everywhere. Couple's mugs are the way to go. I found this design on Google and they were selling these mugs for over $20 each. No way! I knew I could make them myself for under $20. Turns out, they only cost me $2 total. The mugs were a $1 each and I used sharpies I had.

I also did a design on the back of the mug. To ensure that the markers on your mug last through washes you can put the mugs in the oven for 30 minutes on 350. Make sure you put them in before the oven heats up and leave them in there until it cools down to avoid any cracking. These mugs are super adorable and I love them! We also made some red ones with a different design that we give instructions to in our video!

We also did a Valentine's Day Makeup Look, Hair Styles, and Outfit Ideas video which will be up soon! So if you aren't already subscribed to our YouTube channel we would love to have you<3
